Hamzeh Abedi Firoozjaei, 27 years old, originally from the Iranian province of Mazandaran, is the latest student in chronological order to carry out part of his studies in the Fantini Cosmi laboratories, which has always supported innovation also through the voice of new talents.
Hamzeh chose to follow his passion for fluid dynamics and aerospace engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan, choosing Aeronautical Engineering: he presented his thesis just a few weeks ago. “For me, working with fluids and seeing their effects on the environment is fascinating,” he tells us. “I get great satisfaction when I can analyse them and extract all the useful information from them. In the future, he would like to continue his career as a mechanical or aerospace engineer in a highly innovative environment. But how was your experience at Fantini Cosmi?
A stimulating environment
Hamzeh’s enthusiasm also shines through in his account of his time at the company: “Magnificent! I gained new experiences, improved my engineering skills and found several friends. A working environment where one feels at home, where the atmosphere is friendly and support for new talent is a constant.
“When I needed new tools or equipment for my work,” Hamzeh continues, “they always provided them. And even when there were problems, for example when I had to be absent from work, they were always understanding and cooperative”.
Growing through the imperfections of the path
Of course, as in any situation, there was no shortage of difficult moments: small initial difficulties and unforeseen events that Hamzeh overcame by confronting and investigating them with his supervisor, Roberto La Capruccia, Fantini Cosmi R&D manager. One also grows and improves through mistakes and trial and error and today, at the end of his journey, he can look back and take stock of what he has learnt in his time at Fantini Cosmi.
“Not only did I learn a lot about geometric design, computational fluid dynamics simulation and how to perform experimental tests in our test laboratories, but I also gained new experience working in the field of R&D. At Fantini Cosmi you deal with new challenges every day and you have to work as a team to overcome them. This helps to improve communication and teamwork skills”.
A path that has helped him improve both his technical and interpersonal skills, as he himself points out.
In his professional career at Fantini Cosmi, Hamzeh was involved in optimising the performance of an axial fan, managing to improve both its air flow and energy efficiency. Through a series of simulations and experimental tests, his team was able to increase the flow rate by 10% while simultaneously improving energy efficiency.
Fantini Cosmi, a springboard for new talent
A more than positive experience, in short, which finds its perfect synthesis in Hamzeh’s final words: “I would absolutely recommend a course similar to mine to anyone with a thesis project in this field: you can learn a lot here.
In short, innovation is not only about products: innovation is an approach of continuous improvement, which also passes through the energy and enthusiasm of young neo-engineers like Hamzeh, to whom we wish the best of luck for his future.
